"Treason Trial Bulletin No.2"
By Treason Trials Defence Fund

The Treason Trial, which continued for 4-1/2 years, required considerable support for the many defendants. The Treason Trials Defence Fund played this role, as well as publishing information about the trial. This issue describes its many fund-raising efforts and includes a biography by well-known author Nadine Gordimer of Albert Lutuli, one of the 156 people originally accused, who was president of the African National Congress at the time and would later receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1960. [“Lutuli” also can be spelled “Luthuli.”] (Newsletter)
