Linda Fortune, who grew up in District Six and wrote a memoir about her life there (The House on Tyne Street), tells of the social divisions that were created when people were forced to leave District Six.
Linda Fortune was a resident of District Six, and she describes that one-time vibrant community as her spiritual home. She works at the District Six Museum and wrote a book about growing up in District Six, The House in Tyne Street: Childhood Memories of District Six.
