Congress of the People

Four documents relating to the 1955 Congress of the People, where the Freedom Charter was adopted. These are: the Call to the Congress; “Freedom in our Lifetime” by Nelson Mandela; “What Women Demand,” which was presented to the Congress; and a personal remembrance about the meeting written in 1980, “Congress of the People – I was there.” (Resource)
