Walter Sisulu interview by George Houser

Walter Sisulu described to George Houser, Director of the American Committee on Africa, the impact of his banning orders. Secretary General of the African National Congress since 1949, Sisulu had been banned permanently from membership in the ANC and banned for two years from attending any gathering. At the time of the interview, he was under arrest for violating the ban by attending a dinner party with six other people. Sisulu also discusses the changes in strategy of the African National Congress over time. (Interview)
